Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials, equipment, and/or goods to designated locations while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company polcies. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, safety, and strong customer service abilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Document Control
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Transport materials, products or equipment to and from specified destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, fuel records, mileage reports, and delivery documentation.
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and loaded at its designated locations
- Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers.
- Report on vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicle.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and DOT compliance requirements.
- Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries.
Preferred Skills
• Experience hauling construction materials, heavy equipment, or specialized freight.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B (as required).
• Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
• Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT Regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to operate GPS systems, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and related equipment.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Local, regional, or long-haul travel depending on company needs.
• May require evening, weekend, holiday, or overnight work.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, traffic, and construction environments.
