About This Position

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Medical Director of Clinical Transformation (MDCT) will serve as a strategic leader and change agent, driving transformative initiatives to enhance clinical operations, elevate patient care, and advance the overall healthcare delivery model across our health system. The MDCT will focus on fostering innovation, championing quality improvement, and collaborating with key stakeholders to align clinical practices with organizational goals. This part-time role is ideal for a forward-thinking physician with a proven track record in leadership, a passion for healthcare innovation, and a commitment to creating impactful change.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Transformation Leadership

•Partner with the CMO and executive leadership team to develop and execute strategic plans aimed at improving clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

•Provide clinical expertise and leadership in the design and implementation of care models, protocols, and best practices.

•Identify emerging trends in healthcare delivery and recommend initiatives to position the health system as a leader in patient-centered care.

•Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on matters related to clinical transformation and operational efficiency.

2. Clinical Innovation and Best Practices

•Lead the development and implementation of advanced care models, evidence-based protocols, and cutting-edge clinical practices that optimize patient outcomes.

•Evaluate and introduce innovative technologies to improve care delivery and streamline clinical workflows.

3. Quality Improvement and Performance Excellence

•Oversee the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of transformation initiatives.

•Drive quality improvement efforts, ensuring high standards of safety, effectiveness, and patient satisfaction across all departments.

•Collaborate with clinical teams to reduce variation in care, improve resource utilization, and address gaps in service delivery.

4. Physician Engagement and Team Collaboration

•Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning among physicians and clinical staff.

•Act as a liaison between leadership and frontline providers, ensuring alignment with the health system’s mission and values.

•Facilitate open communication to identify challenges, address resistance, and build buy-in for transformation initiatives.

5. Education and Training

•Develop and deliver educational programs that empower clinical teams to adopt new care models, processes, and technologies.

•Mentor physicians and staff in leadership development, change management, and process improvement methodologies.

6. Data-Driven Decision Making

•Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to assess clinical performance, identify trends, and guide decision-making.

•Regularly evaluate the impact of transformation projects, providing actionable insights to inform future strategies.

7. Regulatory Compliance and Standards

•Ensure all initiatives and practices align with current regulations, industry standards, and accreditation requirements.

•Promote adherence to ethical principles, patient safety, and the highest standards of clinical care.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with an active and unrestricted medical license.

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with demonstrated success in a leadership or transformational role.

• Expertise in quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA cycles) and clinical program development.

• Strong ability to lead change, navigate organizational dynamics, and build consensus among diverse teams.

• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in healthcare data analytics.

• Superior communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

• Familiarity with emerging healthcare technologies, electronic health records (EHR), and population health tools.

Working Hours and Expectations:

• This is a part-time role with approximately 8 hours per week.

• Flexible scheduling to accommodate leadership meetings, project timelines, and organizational needs.

• Some remote work may be available, depending on the project requirements.
