About This Position
TITLE: Scheduler
DEPARTMENT: Production Control
LOCATION: Campbellsburg, IN
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Plan and establish production schedules.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement and maintain production plans based on planning and sequencing rules.
- Maintain production planning and scheduling integrity.
- Analyze customer’s daily/weekly product requirements to develop an appropriate production schedule to meet customer shipment schedules.
- Evaluate machine, plant, and people capacity to balance current and forecasted plant production loading, making recommendations when needed in order to meet the production plan.
- Focus on maintaining production levels within capacity levels, allocations, and budgeted guidelines.
- Focus on management of inventory levels to ensure plant inventory objectives are met.
- Examine, analyze, and perform mathematical calculations to determine process flow and/or staffing requirements.
- Review factors that affect production schedules and serve as the approval authority for changes and updates to production plans for overall customer commitments.
- Maintain planning parameters within the business system to include but not limited to safety stock, manufacturing lead times (including subcon supplier lead times), order periods, planner codes, etc.
- Work closely with production supervisors when customers’ order releases require immediate production schedule revisions.
- Assist with expediting items within the production schedule when delays occur, or customer requirements dictate.
- Develop and furnish shipment recovery plans, when needed, to supply to customers.
- When necessary, work with outside subcon suppliers to determine capacity constraints and/or expedite product as needed to meet customer demand.
- Compile daily ship list and email to production team.
- Assist the production team with production priorities.
- Provide basic scheduling and inventory control training to supervisors and others as needed.
- Serve as back-up or assist with raw material ordering when required.
- Coordinate physical inventory activities annually or as needed.
- Raw material cycle count reconciliation and entry.
- Assist with cycle counts of WIP and FG as needed.
- Establish cycle count schedule annually.
- Supervise members of the production control department.
- Oversee DOT requirements of truck drivers.
- Assist with annual budget planning process.
- Compile sales budget information into capacity file.
- Other duties as assigned as assigned by manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED. 2-4 years’ experience in the field or related area. Background in manufacturing Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Computer skills necessary (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.); experience with QAD software a plus.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: When required in specific areas. This includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves. Other personal protective gear as required.
