About This Position

Actuary / Model Risk Manager

Who: A highly skilled actuary with expertise in model risk management, with FSA highly preferred (ASA actively pursuing FSA is a plus).

Salary: $175,000 - $195,000 base salary, plus annual bonus.

Position Overview:

The Actuary / Model Risk Manager will oversee model governance, validation, and compliance, working closely with actuarial, finance, and investment teams. This role requires actuarial credentials, with FSA highly preferred and ASA candidates actively pursuing FSA considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee model risk governance and subcommittee operations.
  • Partner with actuarial, finance, and investment teams to promote model risk awareness.
  • Develop risk management infrastructure, including documentation and best practices.
  • Validate models, assess risk ratings, and address audit requests.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance model risk frameworks.
Qualifications:
  • Actuarial credentials required; FSA highly preferred, ASA actively pursuing FSA is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of model risk management experience in financial services.
  • Strong understanding of model risk frameworks and validation processes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
