About This Position

THE ROLE THAT POWERS ENTREPRENEURS & LOCAL ECONOMIES. YOU guide the strategy so small businesses can thrive!

Prestamos CDFI is seeking a mission-driven Senior Business Advisor to deliver high-impact advising services that accelerate small and mid-sized business growth - with a strong focus on access to capital, loan readiness, and long-term sustainability. You’ll work in a hybrid environment (remote, in-office, and in the field), giving you flexibility to support clients and partner events where it matters most.

Prestamos is a subsidiary of Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), one of the nation’s largest Hispanic Community Development Corporations. We believe in the power of entrepreneurship as a driver of community and economic prosperity.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE? You will be the strategic partner behind hundreds of entrepreneurs, helping them strengthen financial capacity, secure capital, and scale their businesses. In this role, you will:

Provide advanced one-on-one advising on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial modeling, business planning, market assessment, and operational efficiency

Develop tailored client plans and ensure progress through consistent follow-up and documented outcomes

Guide entrepreneurs through the loan and capital access process — from eligibility and preparation through application and funding

Design and implement technical assistance programs aligned with organizational and economic objectives

Manage reporting requirements including monthly performance metrics, invoices, and action plans while ensuring all activities are documented in Dynamics CRM

Mentor and develop junior Business Advisors in financial analysis, advising strategies, CRM utilization, and client engagement

Lead workshops, webinars, and outreach events on financial literacy, loan readiness, and business development

Build strategic relationships with internal lending teams and community partners to drive better capital outcomes

Represent Prestamos CDFI at community events, conferences, and partner activities

Support organizational strategy through leadership in team meetings and cross-functional initiatives

You will also help advance Prestamos’ broader goal of strengthening underserved entrepreneurs and driving lasting community economic development.

WHO YOU ARE? You’re a collaborative leader who thrives at the intersection of entrepreneurship, finance, and economic development. You enjoy advising clients one-on-one just as much as designing programs that support systemic growth. You have a strong financial lens, love problem-solving, and care deeply about equitable access to capital.

Ideal candidates are:

Strategic and analytical with strong business and financial acumen

Confident communicators capable of translating complex financial concepts into actionable plans

Organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple clients simultaneously

Relationship-focused with the ability to engage diverse entrepreneurs and partners

Motivated by impact and committed to elevating underserved communities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Bachelor's degree in related field highly preferred.

Preferred certification in Business Administration, Management, or related field, complemented by continuous professional development in current business practices.

3+ years’ experience in business advising, with a specialization in financial analysis and strategic business planning.

Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple client projects simultaneously with attention to detail.

Demonstrated proficiency in financials, budgeting, and forecasting, with a keen ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable advice.

Proven track record of mentoring and developing advisory staff, with an emphasis on financial analysis and business strategy.

Strong leadership qualities, including excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Required to adapt to various work settings, including remote consultations and on-site client visits, with availability for occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate client needs

English/Spanish Bilingual Highly Preferred
