Job Description
Poff's Power Solutions operates out of Midland, Texas — the heart of the Permian Basin — providing fleet maintenance, mobile repair, welding, and mechanical services to oilfield operators, commercial fleets, and local equipment owners. We're hiring an experienced Mechanic who thrives in a high-demand, high-variety shop environment and knows what it takes to keep equipment running in West Texas.
What You'll Do- Consult with customers to assess vehicle and equipment issues and communicate service plans clearly
- Perform preventative maintenance on light and heavy-duty vehicles, fleet equipment, and oilfield machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems across a broad equipment mix — including oilfield-specific units
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed (MIG/stick; oilfield fab experience is a real plus)
- Power-wash and prep equipment before and after service
- Keep accurate, organized service records and flag anything that needs follow-up
- Support mobile repair runs in the field alongside shop-based work
- Solid mechanical background — oilfield equipment experience is a strong advantage in this market
- Diagnostics-first mindset — you find the actual problem, not just the obvious symptom
- Welding capability valued; Permian Basin fabrication exposure is a bonus
- Reliable and ready for 12-hour day shifts, including weekends when the work demands it
- Self-sufficient — you manage your bay, communicate clearly, and get the job done
