Responsibilities
BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date. ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date. Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS must not expire during orientation Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
This position works with Solid Tumor patients and Hematologic Malignancy and Cellular Therapy patients on the inpatient locations, coordinating with inpatient teams and outpatient teams such as clinic, lab, providers, support services, pharmacy, social work and at times a local oncologist to create seamless transitions of care for the patient.
Department Specific Working Conditions:
- On campus on in-patient units working 9-hour days (0730-1700) Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat.
- Must be able to work in a busy clinical environment and prioritize duties with multiple interruptions throughout the day.
- Must be able to use medical and non-medical unit equipment required to perform essential functions of this position.
Responsibilities
Department Specific Requirements (competencies, equipment, certifications, etc.):
- Washington RN license within 3 months of hire
- Three years of Oncology nursing experience within the past five years
- The RN must have one of the following:
- Current OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification or
- Current BMTCN (Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse) or
- Complete 36 cancer related continuing education nursing contact hours each accreditation cycle, per Commission on Cancer
Department Specific Preferences (experience, competencies, certifications, etc.):
- Ambulatory Oncology coordination experience preferred.
