About This Position

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently coordinate job tasks and ensure timely completion
  • Address unforeseen problems that may arise in the field
  • Serve as a competent person on site
  • Complete administrative duties as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with the company's safety policies and practices
  • Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices
  • Examine blueprints to determine structure dimensions
  • Lay out floor plans/worksite as needed
  • Determine the sequence of activities involved in fabrication, assembly, and erection of the structure
  • Assign tasks to workers
  • Inspect work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements to complete job assignments
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality to increase the efficiency of the work crew
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials
  • Maintain general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes
  • Read and understand a two-week construction schedule
  • Assist with ordering supplies, completing reports, and collecting, reviewing, and submitting time cards, as directed by the Superintendent

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in supervising/crew leadership
  • 4-6 years of experience in pipe laying
  • 4-6 years of overall experience operating large heavy equipment in connection with pipe laying
  • Ability to carry 70 lbs. or more and frequently perform cross-body movements such as bending, climbing, twisting, balancing, and stooping
  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • Flexible availability to work overtime and weekends
  • Valid driver's license
