About This Position

Westfine Meats Inc. is currently seeking a Full -Time Production Planning Specialist at our meat processing plant. This position works Monday – Friday with various shift timings as required.

The Production Planning is responsible for coordinating and developing production plans that meet customer demand, optimize plant efficiency, and minimize waste. This role will directly report to the Plant Manager and work closely with the production, shipping and sales team to forecast production needs, manage inventory levels, maximize production efficiencies and ensure the timely delivery of finished goods.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity

· Introduction of a production planning software to maximize available production time

· Track key performance indicators (KPI’s) for production efficiency, material usage, and overall fulfillment

  • Coordinate with departments to ensure timely delivery of raw material and supplies
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that safety stocks are maintained
  • Adjust production plans as needed in response to unforeseen challenges, such as equipment breakdown, raw material shortage, or changes in customer order
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment timelines
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost control, and waste reduction
  • Maintain accurate records, develop and maintain reports production schedule, inventory levels and other statuses
  • Other duties as required

Skill and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree or Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience in a related role is preferred

· 3+ years of experience in production planning, in food processing or manufacturing industry

· Food Manufacturing experience minimum 2 year

· Proficient with the Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, and not afraid of conflict

· Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative and work with minimal supervision

· Effective self-managing, good problem-solving skills, planning, organizing and priority setting skills

· Able to mentor and guide team members throughout the organization
