About This Position
The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
We’re looking for a TBM Foreman to lead tunneling crews on shift and help drive production on a hard rock Main Beam TBM project. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role responsible for coordinating miners, operators, mechanics, and electricians during daily dig operations. You’ll ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in line with the shift plan - while staying ready to adapt to the unexpected underground.

You’ll ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in line with the shift plan - while staying ready to adapt to the unexpected underground.
Responsibilities:
- Lead tunneling operations on shift, including mucking, utilities, conveyor systems, and ground support activities
- Communicate shift goals, assignments, and safety updates to crew members and ensure clear handoffs between shifts
- Support TBM startup, operation, and stoppage procedures alongside the operator and maintenance teams
- Identify and escalate mechanical, electrical, or ground condition issues affecting production
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards, SOPs, and engineering requirements
- Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and performance feedback to crew members
- Track shift progress and submit accurate reports/logs to the Superintendent and Tunnel Engineer
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of underground tunneling or mining experience, preferably with Main Beam TBMs
- Prior experience in a crew lead, lead miner, or foreman role
- Strong working knowledge of TBM systems, ground support, ventilation, and underground logistics
- Effective communicator and decision-maker under pressure
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and on rotating shifts
