About This Position

Ross-Simons, America’s favorite jeweler, is looking for an Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist. As an AP Specialist you will assist with the Accounts Payable cycle. We are looking for a highly self-motivated, proactive individual, who works well both independently and, on a team, to perform the essential duties. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of adapting and implementing change as well as keen problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is flexible and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude, and a team player who can also work independently while participating in ongoing projects within a fast paced and collaborative environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of incoming vendor bills.
  • Reconcile monthly corporate credit card statements.
  • Record daily cash payments and wires into Great Plains.
  • Assist with preparing weekly check runs.
  • Research and analyze transactions to ensure they are properly recorded in the financial statements.
  • Assist in generating monthly expense reporting data/ad-hoc requests.
  • Assist with special accounting/financial postings, including accruals and reconciliations as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Assist in month-end close processes and 1099 filings.
  • Reply to outside vendor inquiries to ensure our relationships are in good order. Special projects as needed.

Experience and Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of accounts payable or expense reporting roles.
  • Excel experience - V-Lookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc. a plus
  • Professional and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Great Plains a plus.
  • Strong general accounting skills.
  • Ability to multitask with proven self-management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills as well as analytical ability.
  • Highly Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
