Job Description

WHO WE ARE:

Palisociety is a society of unique hotels and residences — Palihouse, Palihotel, Le Petit Pali, ARRIVE by Palisociety, and a growing collection of independently branded properties. Since our first hotel opened in Los Angeles in 2009, we've grown into a nationwide portfolio of neighborhood-centric hotels, restaurants, bars, and event spaces, earning recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, the New York Times, and more.

We consider our employees our greatest asset: structured training from day one, consistent feedback, and a clear path for growth. We develop our leaders from within, because the strongest hospitality companies are the ones that grow their own.

ABOUT LE PETIT PALI CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA:

Le Petit Pali Carmel brings two intimate boutique properties to the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea: Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave, a 24-room craftsman-style hideaway just steps from award-winning dining, boutiques, and Carmel's white sand beach, and Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave, a recently reimagined 34-room property evoking the charm of a small traditional inn, a short stroll from the beach and renowned shops, galleries, and restaurants. Both properties offer intimate bespoke lodging with custom design details and thoughtful in-room touches, welcoming guests near and far to create fine and memorable experiences.

POSITION PROFILE:

The Food & Beverage Manager sets the tone for every meal, drink, and moment our guests share at Le Petit Pali Carmel-by-the-Sea. You'll lead the team behind the scenes and on the floor, keeping service warm, polished, and true to the spirit of Le Petit Pali Carmel-by-the-Sea.

THE TASK AT HAND:

  • Lead daily food and beverage operations at Le Petit Pali Carmel-by-the-Sea, keeping service smooth from open to close.

  • Coach, schedule, and support servers, bartenders, cooks, and other team members to deliver our service standards.

  • Greet guests with warmth, anticipate their needs, and resolve concerns quickly and graciously.

  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to keep the venue well stocked and costs under control.

  • Monitor budgets, labor, and sales, and share ideas for improving results and the guest experience.

  • Partner with the kitchen and bar teams on menus, specials, and quality of every dish and drink.

  • Uphold food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations at all times.

  • Work closely with hotel leadership and other departments to keep operations running smoothly, and lend a hand wherever needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Required

  • 3 years of food and beverage experience, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role.

  • Positive, energetic, and service-oriented, with strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements.

  • Comfortable with budgets, inventory, and point-of-sale systems.

  • Clear verbal and written communication in English.

  • Good judgment, calm under pressure, and able to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience managing food and beverage operations in a boutique or luxury hotel or independent restaurant setting.

Physical

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods and push, pull, or lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • Competitive compensation package with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus 401(k).

  • Paid time off, holiday pay, and sick pay.

  • Career advancement and professional development as we open new hotels and restaurants nationwide.

  • Employee discounts across our entire portfolio (25 hotels and more to come!).
