Inventory & Shipping Clerk

Job Summary

The Inventory & Shipping Clerk is responsible for supporting daily inventory, packaging, and shipping operations to ensure products are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for shipment in accordance with customer specifications and company quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipping records while working efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, and process products for shipment in accordance with customer specifications and established procedures.
  • Verify product quantities, part numbers, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, material movement, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Follow established packaging instructions, shipping procedures, and company quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions related to packaging processes.
  • Perform inventory counts and assists with identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are properly labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipping activities, and completed orders.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, shipping discrepancies, and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and other departments to support daily operational needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and cooperatively with coworkers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, and quantity verification.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend work instructions and shipping documentation in English.
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and shipping documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and cooperatively with coworkers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for approximately 75% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements involving hands and arms.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle, count, and package materials
