• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, workplace expectations, and appropriate next steps.
• Resolve routine HR questions within established policies and delegated authority. Escalate harassment or violence allegations, discrimination complaints, serious employee relations concerns, formal disciplinary matters, and proposed terminations to the HR Manager and designated authorities.

Compliance Records and Reporting• Monitor applicable employment legislation, human rights requirements, organizational policies, and HR best practices, and periodically review HR practices and records to support compliance.
• Maintain accurate, current, and confidential employee records in the HR information system and personnel files.
• Prepare HR reports and workforce metrics for management as required, and complete other related duties assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
• Provide verified, approved HR employment information to Payroll or Finance as needed. Payroll calculations, processing, adjustments, statutory deductions, timesheet administration, and payment issuance are outside this position’s responsibilities. The HR Generalist must not independently approve changes to compensation.
• Maintain an HR action tracker, monitor recruitment and onboarding progress, follow up on outstanding requests, and recommend improvements to HR service delivery.
