R&D Project Specialist (Temporary) in Clifton, New Jersey at Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery

Jimmy’s Gourmet Bakery is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented R&D Project Specialist to join our Research & Development team on a temporary, project-based assignment lasting approximately 3–6 months. In this role, you will work directly with the Director of R&D, Food Scientists, and the New Product Development Director to create and organize a centralized database of company products and recipes. This project will help improve how product information is stored, tracked, and accessed across the organization.

The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, comfortable working with large amounts of information, and experienced in Microsoft Excel, data management, and database organization.

• Gather and organize product and recipe information from existing files, spreadsheets, and documents.
• Create and maintain a centralized, searchable database of company products and recipes.
• Organize product details, descriptions, recipe information, and development status.
• Establish consistent methods for categorizing and maintaining product information.
• Identify missing information, duplicate records, and inconsistencies.
• Review and validate information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with the R&D and Sales teams to collect and verify information.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary recipes, product specifications, and customer information.

• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience organizing large amounts of information and maintaining databases or tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines.
• Comfortable working with confidential business information.

• Experience with Microsoft Access, SharePoint, SQL, or other database management platforms.
• Previous experience with data entry, data cleanup, data integrity, reporting, or project coordination.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food manufacturing facility that processes products containing peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, and soy. Employees must follow all applicable safety, hygiene, food safety, and allergen-control procedures.
