Direct Support Professional at Avid Care – Verona, Pennsylvania

Hours: (40 hours total) Wednesdays 5pm-9pm / Wednesdays- Fridays 9pm-9am

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, including group homes and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through patient care, meal preparation, and the implementation of personalized care plans. This role requires a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and a passion for working with people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Foster a supportive environment that encourages independence and personal growth for each client.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to patient care.

Experience

• Previous experience in patient care or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices in patient confidentiality.
• Experience in meal preparation and understanding of dietary needs is beneficial.
• Knowledge of assisted living environments or group home operations is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A background in nursing or related healthcare fields is advantageous but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.40 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
