About This Position


Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) seeks a Center Supervisor II at our Cedar Hills Recreation Center who can help us achieve our vision of providing high-quality park and recreation facilities, programs, services, and natural areas that meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. Center supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the center which include supervision and evaluation of assigned staff. They oversee the development and evaluate the effectiveness of center programs and events.

Cedar Hills Recreation Center is a full-service recreation center with a wide variety of programming for all ages. Offerings include fitness classes, a weight and cardio room, classes and camps in art, dance, gymnastics, sports, a 9-month preschool, and an afterschool program for elementary students. To reduce barriers to entry, THPRD evaluates an applicant's work history and responses to supplemental questions and does not consider cover letters and resumes in the screening process. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

A bachelor’s degree, with a major in parks and recreation or a related field, or equivalent work-life experience and a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in recreational management or a related field, a minimum of three years of experience in management or as an expert individual contributor responsible for leading employees and projects.

The district provides a bilingual pay incentive to staff who regularly use their bilingual or multilingual skills.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must maintain a valid Oregon driver's license and good driving record.
  • Current first aid and CPR Certification.
  • Certified Park & Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.
