Powder Processor Technician 2 at Trans-Tech – Adamstown, Maryland

Powder Processor Technician 2

In this role, you will produce custom ceramic powders through a variety of powder processing tasks. Duties include keeping accurate and up-to-date batch records, performing in-process tests, and reading and following written instructions and safety protocols.

Work schedule:

Regular schedule will be 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Monday-Friday) but will train on 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday-Friday) for approximately 1 month.

Primary job responsibilities:

• Loading dry raw material powders into blending tanks and milling vessels to create homogenous mixtures and reduce particle size
• Loading drying ovens and loading the dry mixtures into ceramic saggers for thermal processing.
• Spray drying ceramic slurry mixtures
• Cleaning all processing equipment

Requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to regularly lift 50-60 lbs.
• Able to work in dusty environments – at times, will need to use a respirator
• Ability to work in wet processing conditions
• Maintain accurate records electronically and written

Preferred competencies:

• Strong math and computer skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to interpret process instructions
