About This Position
The UM Flathead Lake Biological Station (FLBS)invites applications for a Facilities Associate. Reporting to the FLBS Head of Housekeeping, you will perform custodial duties for the entire FLBS campus (including auxiliaries). This is a yearlong temporary position.
- Implement standard cleaning techniques and cleanliness standards in bathrooms, offices, classrooms, kitchens, dining hall, and residences
- May need to shovel snow around apartments, lodge and bathhouses, and the kitchen in winter season
- Move and set up conference rooms for events
- Conduct inventory for cleaning supplies
- Provide customer service to the general public
- Other duties as assigned
- Thorough knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and cleaning supplies
- Good housekeeping and bed making skills, a strong commitment to presentation and health/safety issues
- Experience and knowledge of operating floor machine, carpet shampooer, vacuum sweepers, wet vaccum and other tools of the trade
- Have good communication and customer service skills for interacting with faculty, staff and visitors
- Ability to lift and move heavy chairs, tables, beds, audiovisual equipment, etc., which requires mobility and physical demands
- Ability to occasionally work flexible hours to accommodate off schedule departure/arrival times for workshops
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year in custodial/housekeeping experience
Position Number: 920R07
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months
Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
