Department: Marketing - Omnichannel

Reports To: Store Manager

Location: 462 W. Port Plaza Dr., Saint Louis, MO, 63146

Status: Salaried

Supervises: Sales Associates
Store Operating Hours: Sunday 10:00AM-6:00PM, Monday-Thursday 10:00AM-8:00PM, Friday/Saturday- 10:00AM-9:00PM. Must have days, nights, and weekend availability.

General Overview: The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for co-leading the opening of the all-new Rawlings Experience in St. Louis, MO and setting the process to ensure an outstanding customer and Rawlings Sales Associate experience. The person in this role, will identify potential operational, associate and customer issues to initiate associate and customer centric solutions. Lastly, he/she will be held accountable for ensuring day-to-day guidelines are followed within the store, including safety, customer service, loss prevention and cash handling policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads associates to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Motivates and inspires associates to greater performance, exceeding sales, margin, and customer service goals.
  • Empowers and Engages associates to challenge current performance and initiate continual improvement.
  • Self-Development - Utilizes Rawlings Learning Platform and associates to become a product expert and visionary leader.
  • Develop and Coach - Mentors associates to become product specialists, sales experts, and future leaders. Drives results through people development,
  • Ensures merchandising presentation excellence that upholds Rawlings standards
  • Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and hiring for hourly associates.
  • Celebrates associate successes - Coaches coworkers for continual improvement. Issues appropriate counseling and corrective action to those associates who fail to meet our performance standards.
  • Ensures compliance to all guidelines involved with safety, loss prevention and cash handling procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience and Education Required:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor ’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail leadership experience required.
  • Sporting Goods experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills
  • Passion for leading and developing others.
  • Possesses the drive to exceed expectations.
  • Initiative to seek out business and people growth opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, nights and holidays
