About This Position

SUMMARY: The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for executing a proactive content strategy across social channels to promote the association’s voice in the industry, along with events, programs, and resources. This role requires a highly organized and creative individual with a strong understanding of social media trends, engagement strategies, and digital marketing best practices. The Social Media Coordinator will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality, timely content that aligns with the association’s goals and brand identity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With department leadership, develops a social media strategy that optimizes our social platforms with scroll-stopping content that resonates with our target audiences.
  • Implements a proactive content strategy across social channels to amplify the association’s voice as a thought leader and promote events, programs, and resources.
  • Works with our content creator and graphic design consultant to ensure every post is eye-catching, on-brand, and timely.
  • Brings fresh ideas forward and delegates tasks as needed to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Proactively engages social media conversations, keeping an eye on trending topics and jumping in where it makes sense. Responds promptly to queries, online reviews, and feedback from members and followers.
  • Implements social media campaigns with targeted ads and demographic/geographic segmentation to reach the right audiences and enhance engagement.
  • Monitors and analyzes engagement metrics to optimize posting schedules, ensuring maximum reach and effectiveness.
  • Stays current with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to keep the association’s strategy up to date.
  • Engages in social media listening across channels, monitoring brand sentiment and recommending areas for improvement.
  • With strategic direction from department leadership, manages partnerships with influencers and industry stakeholders to broaden association reach and brand recognition.
  • Works alongside our Content Creator to research and implement SEO strategies that boost our digital footprint.
  • Contributes to updating content on the website and performs light website maintenance on an ongoing basis.
  • Contributes to monthly reports for the Board of Directors, providing key insights on social media analytics, engagement, and SEO performance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Marketing, Communications or a similar field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of major established and emerging social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, Reddit, etc.) and best practices for engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and how to utilize them for optimization.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to display initiative.
  • Fosters and contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship.
