Tax Intern - Remote - Irvine at Pathway Capital Management – Irvine, California

Pathway Capital Management, LP, is a leading institutional investment management firm that creates and manages specialized private markets solutions for institutional investors worldwide. We are currently seeking a Tax Intern for our Irvine office (this position is remote).

Job Description:

• Analyze Federal/State Schedule K-1 / K-3 tax documents for specific criteria used to assist in the preparation of tax returns.
• Perform data entry of tax information gathered from underlying investments.
• Review foreign forms external tax preparers provide and compare them against the internal database.
• Assist in reviewing partnership tax returns provided by an external tax preparer.
• Review state work papers provided by an external tax preparer.
• Generate internal reports and identify discrepancies with Federal tax returns prepared by external tax preparers.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
• Expect to initially work 10 - 15 hours a week when the internship starts in April and then expect to work up to 29 hours a week between May and August during the Summer tax busy season. Flexible hours are available within regular business hours (Mon – Fri, 8 am – 5 pm)
• We will be conducting interviews starting in February 2025.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting with a strong interest in tax.
• Candidate must be a self-starter, highly motivated, quick learner, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work collaboratively with tax department team members.
• Ability to adhere to a set schedule.
• Please note that, given the internship's 6-month length, a vacation of more than two days will not be granted due to the high workload demand.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat at a basic level is required.
• Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
