Position Information


The Office of Student Affairs at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality of student life experience throughout the four years of medical school. Student Affairs provides a variety of services, including student enrollment, financial aid, academic records, physical and mental wellness, admissions counseling, career counseling, externships, residency preparation and professional development.The Manager of Admissions at the UCR School of Medicine leads the operational and strategic efforts of the medical school admissions process. This role includes supervising a team of staff, managing application review platforms, and overseeing the review and interview processes for more than 6,000 annual applications. The position involves strategic planning, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, recruitment activities, and the implementation of policies to support the school’s mission. The Manager serves as a liaison to the AAMC, ensures compliance with admissions protocols, and provides data-driven insights to enhance admissions outcomes while fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.Please note the special requirements for this position: Occasional travel is required for university related business meetings, conferences, and/or professional development; ability to work evenings and/or weekends for recruitment/outreach events and other student affairs activities, as needed; Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours). Schedules may change due to operational needs; and ability to drive to and from business meetings, conferences, professional development, and/or recruitment events.The full salary range for the Manager of Admissions is $73,600 - $133,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $103,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Effective writing and editing skills, including experience developing policy/procedures, reports and presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
Knowledge of human resources management policies with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance.
Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking skills to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.

Significant knowledge regarding UC's Colleges/schools general education policies and requisite transfer preparation.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends for operational and student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment.
Significant knowledge of the goals and mission of the University as they relate to academic preparation, recruitment, and advanced-standing admission.
Significant knowledge of UC's Colleges, Schools and departmental transfer policies.
