| Position Summary: | Villanova University’s first-year seminar program, the Augustine and Culture Seminar Program (ACSP), accepts applications throughout the calendar year to teach its two-semester humanities seminar. With a reading list grounded in the Augustinian, Catholic, and liberal arts traditions, the Augustine and Culture Seminar (ACS) is reading-and-writing-intensive and also facilitates student engagement in the intellectual, cultural, and artistic life of the University and the greater Philadelphia area. Students from all four colleges (Liberal Arts & Sciences, Nursing, Engineering and Business) take the two courses (1000 Ancients and 1001 Moderns) in this program taught by 25+ full-time faculty from a wide range of disciplines. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian order. | Duties and Responsibilities: | The Augustine and Culture Seminar (ACS) is a two-semester first-year humanities sequence (ACS 1000: Ancients, and ACS 1001: Moderns) that educates students in Augustinian and humanistic inquiry through significant works of human culture and an intensive program of critical reading, writing, and discussion. Together, these features give our students a distinctive first-year experience:
