Storeroom Tech at Forrest General Hospital – Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Job Summary:

Assists Logistics Supervisor in all duties related to the preparation, ordering, and distribution of supplies, equipment and related services. Perform duties relating to the Storeroom computer system. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Performance Expectations:

After orientation and training, this employee will be expected to demonstrate competencies in these areas:

Promptly organizes pick tickets. Accurately picks orders according to pick tickets. Notes discrepancies or changes on pick tickets. Delivers products the same day the requisition is created or according to schedule. Always gets a signature and employee number when making a delivery. Works through conflict with departments and team members to create win-win solutions. Communicates and collaborates effectively and respectfully with patient care areas and team members. Answers the phone promptly and professionally. Always identifies the department and him/herself when answering the phone. Responds promptly to requests of customers. Builds and maintains positive relationships with patient care areas and managers. Straightens assigned area before and after each shift. Follows procedure when cleaning, checking inspection sticker and tagging clean equipment. Makes sure that products are at least 18” from the ceiling and at least 6” off the floor. Promptly cleans, inventories, replenishes, delivers and retrieves code and urology carts according to policy. May be required to drive, load and offload the 15ft transport truck for deliveries at our outlying locations. Performs other duties as directed by the Logistics Supervisor or Director.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required, courses in computers and math are helpful.

Work Experience:

Experience in supply distribution preferred.

Certification/Licensure—DUE UPON HIRE

Valid Driver's License

Ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, take orders and follow directions precisely and demonstrate initiative.
