About This Position

About Beam Benefits

Beam was founded in 2012 by three engineers who saw the opportunity to modernize the dental benefits industry using technology. The first product was the Beam Brush, which was one of the earliest examples of the Internet of Things in healthcare.

Today, Beam Benefits is available in 40+ states and has expanded beyond dental. Beam is now simplifying and modernizing a robust suite of ancillary employee benefits through an intuitive digital platform, self-service tools, AI-powered pricing, support from Beam’s helpful representatives, and a unique Beam Perks™ rewards program. This winning combination allows us to deliver a simple, smart, and wellness-focused experience for brokers, employers, and members.

You notice when something doesn’t look right and take initiative to investigate and resolve it. You are collaborative, communicative, and able to handle confidential information with care.

You enjoy helping employees, simplifying processes, and keeping things organized. You are comfortable working with systems and documentation, and you take pride in making sure the details are correct.

What You Will Do:

  • Process biweekly payroll and review employee changes, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy
  • Coordinate off-cycle payments, corrections, and final paycheck
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain employee personnel files and required documentation
  • Complete I-9 verification and employment eligibility tracking
  • Track work authorization and re-verification deadlines
  • Respond to unemployment claims and employment verification requests
  • Coordinate background checks and required new hire documentation
  • Ensure required postings, notices, and acknowledgments are completed and recorded
  • Monitor and respond to the shared People Team inbox, routing requests appropriately
  • Provide employees guidance on standard HR forms and processes
  • Enter and update employee data in HR systems as directed
  • Support onboarding paperwork collection and documentation tracking
  • Prepare documentation for audits and internal reviews
  • Maintain payroll and compliance records
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative workflows and documentation processes through automation
  • Support special projects and People Team initiatives as needed

What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:

  • 3–5 years of HR administration, payroll, or HR operations experience
  • Experience processing payroll in an HRIS or payroll platform (Rippling preferred)
  • Experience maintaining employee records and documentation
  • Multi-state workforce exposure preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and recurring processes
  • Strong written communication and customer service skills
  • Comfort handling confidential information
