About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial reporting, overseeing key accounting processes, and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, a proactive approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Cost Accounting
- Maintain the accuracy of work-in-progress (WIP), cost of goods sold (COGS), and project margin reporting.
- Review and transfer project costs from WIP to COGS for activated projects.
Billing and Revenue
- Prepare and record monthly revenue journal entries.
- Issue invoices for cash-based projects.
Cash Management
- Prepare cash journal entries and perform related reconciliations.
Inventory and Fixed Assets
- Reconcile inventory counts and adjust balances as needed.
- Maintain the fixed asset schedule for newly acquired assets and record depreciation entries.
- Update prepaid amortization schedules and prepare related journal entries.
- Capitalize and amortize software development costs in accordance with company policy.
Credit Card and Prepaid Transactions
- Review, record, and reconcile credit card transactions, including Amex and Mastercard activity.
Accounts Payable
- Monitor the AP inbox and verify the accuracy of uploaded bills.
Account Reconciliations
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to support accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or progress toward a CPA preferred.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
