Underwriting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Manager to lead our underwriting team and ensure the effective evaluation and management of risk. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and stability of our organization by overseeing underwriting operations, developing strategies, and maintaining high standards of risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the underwriting team to ensure accurate and timely evaluation of insurance applications.

- Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.

- Review complex or high-value cases to make informed risk decisions.

- Collaborate with sales, claims, and actuarial teams to optimize underwriting processes and improve risk selection.

- Monitor underwriting performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to adapt underwriting strategies accordingly.

- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to underwriting staff.

- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on underwriting activities and risk assessments.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in underwriting, with 3 - 5 years of experience in an underwriting managerial or leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment techniques.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.

- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
