About This Position

Trauma Program Manager

Job Summary: As the Trauma Program Manager for our Level 1 Trauma Program, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of trauma care delivery. This role demands a leader with a strong clinical background, exceptional managerial skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the enhancement and growth of the trauma program in alignment with organizational goals and standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the trauma care team, ensuring collaboration, effective communication, and adherence to best practices in trauma care.
  • Drive initiatives to maintain and improve the quality of trauma care services, regularly evaluating protocols, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, including but not limited to state, federal, and accreditation agency requirements.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, to support efficient and effective trauma care delivery.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in trauma care.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments, healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Analyze data related to trauma care, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Serve as an advocate for trauma patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and promoting a patient-centered care approach.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 6 years of professional clinical experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level, required.

Education: Bachelor degree required; Master's degree preferred as an advanced practice provider. Graduate from either an accredited school of Nursing, an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Licenses / Certifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or MD license, Current BLS and ACLS Certification

  • Strong understanding of quality care protocols, improvement methodologies, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of data to drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • The ability to develop and execute strategic plans for program development and enhancement.
