About This Position

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Director-Total Rewards reviews, designs, and implements our Total Rewards strategy across the organization, and provides leadership on benefits to ensure competitiveness within the industry. This position coordinates and oversees the administration of various Team Member benefit plans such as short and long-term disability, retirement, leave of absence, tuition, and worker’s compensation plans. This position plays a pivotal role in reducing cost to our self-insured insurance plans for our Health System.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Responsible for the oversight of the benefits plans/programs, including health and welfare programs, 401(a) and 403(b) plans, employee benefits data, etc.
    • Research and develop detailed recommendations for the implementation of new programs or for the modification of existing programs.
    • Ensure legal compliance and cost effectiveness and that resources are allocated to support the various initiatives.
    • Coach, mentor, and train Total Rewards team members
    • Work effectively with the other Total Rewards teams, Talent Acquisition, payroll, HRIS and HRBPs on projects as assigned
    • Prepares and provides written and verbal information to Team Members regarding benefits
    • Ensures Team Members are aware of benefit levels, claims and enrollment procedures through new Team Member orientation, handouts, electronic or written brochures and individual sessions
    • Serves as a partner with external consultants for our medical, pharmacy and other voluntary benefits planning, design and implementation
    • Plans and coordinates annual open enrollment as well as events around team member status changes.
    • Maintains accurate Team Member electronic benefit file and other important data per guidelines
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college and/or 15 years experience of a combination of education or relevant experience
      • 3 years proven leadership experience.
      • Working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding benefits practices
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Excellent organization skills
      • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • Completion of UKKD LEAD Academy.
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.
    • Occasionally requires travel to and from off-site locations
    • The noise level in this position is usually low.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Frequently required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or while presenting to individuals or groups.
    • Frequently required to move about throughout the Medical Center or while rounding.
    • Constantly required to communicate with people electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
