Miller Pipeline is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to prepare new and used equipment for use, repair and maintain all electric, diesel, and gasoline-powered company equipment and vehicles. They will also perform and document all phases of equipment maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on various types of light, medium, and heavy equipment including, but not limited to backhoes, excavators, directional drill machines and trenchers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and plan repair procedures.
- Perform engine tune-up and electrical system repairs.
- Repair charging systems, exhaust systems, and hydraulics systems.
- Rebuild parts such as hydraulic cylinders.
- Complete scheduled maintenance and lubricate moving parts. Operate equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
- Some welding and general fabrication work.
- Respond to and complete work orders; prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate daily service reports and equipment status reports.
- Interact daily with internal customers, vendors, and manufacturers for technical questions and support.
- Use laptop computer for diagnostics, service reports, work orders and time reporting.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and diagnostics.
- Valid drivers license with good driving record.
- Full comprehension of hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Effective troubleshooting and technical ability.
