Housekeeping and Laundry Dept. Floor Tech - Nursing Home at Elite Healthcare Service Inc – Concord, NH, New Hampshire

The Housekeeping & Laundry Department Floor Technician (Day Shift) at Elite Healthcare Service is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary floors throughout the nursing home while supporting housekeeping and laundry operations as needed. This position plays a critical role in infection control, resident safety, and maintaining a welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff.

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of facility floors, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, and waxing
  
• Strip, refinish, and seal floors according to established schedules and facility procedures
  
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, and wet vacuums
  
• Respond promptly to spills and floor-related safety concerns
  
• Use appropriate safety signage during wet or hazardous floor conditions
  

• Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed, including cleaning resident rooms, common areas, offices, and restrooms
  
• Follow infection control, OSHA, and facility safety guidelines at all times
  
• Properly use, handle, and store cleaning chemicals and supplies
  

• Assist with laundry functions including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering linens and resident clothing
  
• Follow procedures for handling soiled linens and preventing cross-contamination
  

• Clean and maintain floor care equipment after each use
  
• Report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly
  
• Notify supervisor of supply shortages
  

• Interact respectfully and professionally with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers

• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  
• Previous floor care or housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is preferred
  

• Knowledge of proper floor care techniques and equipment operation
  
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and push/pull equipment for extended periods
  
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  
• Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and laundry environments
  

• Day Shift
  
• May include weekends and holidays as needed
