Dental Hygienist at VSM Management LLC – Newnan, Georgia

About the Role:

The Hygienist plays a critical role in delivering exceptional dental care, ensuring patients receive thorough preventive treatments and oral health education. This position focuses on performing dental hygiene procedures such as cleanings, scaling, and polishing to maintain and improve patients' oral health. The hygienist collaborates closely with dentists and other dental team members to support comprehensive patient care and optimize treatment outcomes. Ultimately, the Hygienist contributes to a positive patient experience and supports the practice’s commitment to oral health excellence.

The position would be for 2 or 3 days a week. 8am-3pm

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid and current Dental Hygienist license in the state of Georgia.
• Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• CPR certification.
• Proven experience in clinical dental hygiene practice.
• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, infection control, and patient care standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with electronic dental records (EDR) systems.
• Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Previous experience in a multi-provider dental practice.
• Experience with Dentrix.

Responsibilities:

• Perform dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polishing, perio charting, taking xrays, etc.
• Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans and provide support during procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure infection control protocols and safety standards are strictly followed.
• Manage scheduling and patient flow efficiently during shifts to optimize care delivery.

Skills:

The Hygienist utilizes clinical skills daily to perform thorough cleanings and periodontal treatments that prevent oral diseases. Strong communication skills are essential for educating patients on proper oral hygiene and motivating them to maintain healthy habits. Attention to detail ensures accurate documentation and adherence to infection control protocols, safeguarding patient safety. Time management and proficiency skills enable the hygienist to adapt to varying schedules and patient volumes efficiently. Additionally, proficiency with dental software enhances workflow and supports seamless coordination with the dental team.
