Production Supervisor

Role:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day planning and control of production activities including yields, equipment, sanitation, staffing, supplies, schedules, and machine start-up by effectively utilizing resources to achieve production demands and customer service levels while adhering to quality, safety and legislative guidelines.
Schedule - 6:30-3:30pm
Responsibilities - Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements or duty assignments considering budgetary limitations and time constraint.
- Plan and prepare various production reports, orders and projections.
- Administer company policies on discipline and address complaints in a timely and respectful manner.
- Liaise with Plant Manager, Production Managers, and Dispatch Manager, and maintain effective relationships with other departments.
- Compile and review the daily production orders of both cut up and tray pack areas and ensure they are entered into system in a timely fashion.
- Develop, direct, manage, train, and motivate employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in conjunction with the Human Resource department.
- Provides input into matters on changes of food safety procedures, product quality and Quality Assurance related matters.
- Onboarding and training of new employees, performance assessment, and confirming qualification in job duties.
- Prepare, maintain and authorize production reports and personnel records.
- Change production levels and staffing on different product lines to minimize inventory levels, cross train employees for maximum production flexibility.
- Coordinate with different departments, manage communication lines with managers suppliers and procurement departments.
- Identify production bottlenecks, implement corrective measure procedures and work methods to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, CFIA, HACCP, GMP and standards
- Lead, initiate and ensure that all health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Able and willing to occasionally adjust shift to provide supervision on dayshift and nightshift when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel).
- Previous Supervisory/Leadership experience
- Strong organization skills.
- Must be dependable and hold an above average attendance record.
- Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective Communication Skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.

Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sunrise Farms. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
