Lab Scientist - Certified at Parkview Health – Fort Wayne, Indiana

Bachelors degree in chemistry biology medical laboratory science medical technology or other major that qualifies as an equivalency according to CLIA. Meets 42CFR493.1489(b)(3)(ii). At the time of hire or promotion must have certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist (MT). Certification must be awarded by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Inc. (NCA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Categorical Scientist certifications awarded by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) as alternatives to the MLS certifications are acceptable if the employee only works within the laboratory department which corresponds to their certification. ASCP BOC categorical Scientist certifications include Technologist in Blood Bank (BB) Chemistry (C) Hematology (H) Microbiology (M) or Molecular Biology (MB) and are not equivalent to Specialist level certifications. Must have visual acuity and color discrimination. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
