The Certified Surgical Tech - First Assistant assists in the provision of patient care based on the nursing process and in compliance with the policies, protocols, and procedures of Hendrick Health. They are accountable for maintaining and improving their own nursing knowledge and skills. They show proficiency in the organizational and technical skills involved in the surgical setting and assists on all types of surgical procedures under the supervision of a Surgeon and RN Circulator. Sets-up, maintains, and works from sterile areas. Assists in set-up and clean-up of operating rooms. Helps in all related functions that are relevant to the care of our patients and surgeons in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations. Demonstrates patient-centered/patient-valued behaviors. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in meeting age-related and handicapped patient needs.
