Job Description:
As an Export Coordinator at Cargo International, you will play a crucial role in managing the export process to ensure the timely and smooth movement of goods from origin to destination. You will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of international shipments, including documentation, compliance, and communication with clients and third-party service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Prepare and review export documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, ensuring compliance with international regulations and requirements.
- Booking and Scheduling: Coordinate bookings with carriers and schedule shipments to meet customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and agents, providing updates on shipment status, resolving inquiries, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Customs Compliance: Ensure adherence to customs regulations and requirements for each destination country, including the preparation and submission of export declarations and other necessary documentation.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, such as carriers, and customs brokers, to coordinate the movement of goods and resolve any logistical challenges.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality and accuracy of documentation and shipping processes to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and disruptions to the export process, such as delays, damages, or regulatory issues, by implementing effective contingency plans and proactive communication strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize the export operation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field (preferred).
- AES filing experience is a MUST.
- Previous experience in export coordination, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of export regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
