About This Position

Description:

Etai’s Food is a local, family-owned company with a food production plant specialized in ready-to-eat products and catering. We are looking for individuals with food production experience to supervise our team.

The Second Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Wholesale Production Department during the evening shift. This position assigns work, enforces policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting in directing staff and operational control of one or more food production teams.
  • Follows all health and safety standards, GMP’s, food safety, visual quality, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate production and preparation of food products, to include set-up, staging, change overs and department sanitation.
  • Oversee a team of 10 employees
  • Responsible for scheduling, assigning work, , coordinating activities with other departments
  • Work in partnership with Quality Team to implement and ensure compliance to all food safety plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the management of raw material and finished goods inventories
  • Assists in the implementation of safety plan and safety initiates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience leading a team in a fast-paced food production or manufacturing environment; chilled food experience preferred.
  • Post-secondary education or a related degree in Culinary Arts, Food Safety, Food Science, or Management is preferred.
  • Certifications or training in HACCP, Food Handling/ServSafe, Culinary Arts, or CCPs are a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to accomplish goals by effectively guiding and supporting team members.
  • Ability to work in a cold and damp environment and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  • Able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to food allergens.
  • Ability to work in cold environment (40 degrees)
  • Lifting to 50 pounds frequently. All Lifts over 50 Pounds require assisted lifting

Position information:

Job Type: Full-time

Hourly: $25.00

Shift: Sunday to Thursday - Shift starts at 2pm
