Customer Service – Community Gate Concierge

Job Summary: The Community Gate Concierge is based at our corporate office in Jacksonville and serves as the virtual first point of contact for residents, visitors, and vendors seeking entry to the communities we serve. This role handles incoming calls regarding gate access, assists residents and visitors with gate entry procedures, and ensures seamless interactions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong customer service background, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet residents, guests, and vendors professionally in a virtual setting and manage access requests for community entry.
- Verify and manage access permissions for residents, visitors, vendors, and service personnel in accordance with community protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all entries, exits, and access activity.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide clear instructions regarding entry procedures and community guidelines.
- Coordinate with on-site security personnel, when applicable, to support efficient gate operations and visitor access.
- Address and resolve resident complaints and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Follow established protocols for all visitor access, including guests, emergency vehicles, delivery drivers, and school buses.
- Monitor and report suspicious activities or security concerns to the appropriate leadership team members.
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, record updates, and basic reporting as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of community requirements, gate configurations, and resident preferences to provide accurate information.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to remain current on systems, procedures, and security practices.
- Support a safe and secure community environment while performing additional duties as needed to meet evolving business needs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in a call center, customer service, or a similar role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn in-house software and other applications.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Strong professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Effective organizational and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with security procedures or surveillance systems is preferred.
- Safety-first mindset and commitment to maintaining secure operations.
- Pass drug screening and background requirements.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform work while seated, standing, walking, or moving between locations for extended periods.
- Use computers and related technology, read electronic and printed materials, and observe details at close range.
- Communicate clearly in person, by phone, and electronically, and occasionally move light objects or travel to other work locations as business needs require.
Work Location: On-site at Jacksonville headquarters
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Work Hours/Availability:
- Regular hours: 11 PM – 7 AM. Must be able to work weekends and some holidays but will have two consecutive days off.
- The first two weeks of training will be from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
Pay Rate: $17 - 18/hour plus incentives
