Senior PHP Engineer at Innovecture – Atlanta, Georgia

Senior PHP Engineer with 8 to 12 years of experience for a full-time remote position in India. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications, while playing a key role in architecture decisions and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining PHP-based applications
- Leading backend architecture and technical decision-making
- Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Optimizing application performance, scalability, and security
- Reviewing code and enforcing best engineering practices
- Mentoring and supporting junior and mid-level developers
- Collaborating with frontend, QA, product, and DevOps teams
- Integrating third-party APIs and services
- Participating in system design discussions and sprint planning
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving production issues

- 8+ years of professional PHP development experience
- Strong knowledge of modern PHP (8.x)
- Experience with frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
- Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns
- Strong experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL/MariaDB and query optimization
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON
- Experience with Git and modern CI/CD workflows
- Understanding of security best practices (OWASP, authentication, authorization)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

- Experience with microservices architecture
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS)
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML/CSS)
- Prior experience leading technical initiatives or small teams

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
