About the role

Job Summary, Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all day-to-day events, meetings including coordinating the catering services. The Events & Catering Manager will act as a liaison between the Lake Wildwood Community Members and the Oaks Clubhouse for all aspects of non-member, member and member sponsored events. The Events and Catering Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Association approved public/charity events. The Events & Catering Manager will be responsible for creating a marketing plan for both member and public event sales. The Events & Catering Manager will successfully develop contracts (BEO’s) and oversee all administrative and operational aspects of preparing, selling, and managing event logistics. This includes being present at the events from start to finish.

Pay Range: $72,000 - $82,000

What you'll do

The F&B responsibilities will be to assist F&B management when needed to be a manager present and working during operation hours.

a. Coordinates and supervises Catering and Event operations throughout the daily meal periods and assists with Restaurant and Bar operations.

b. Upholds professional food and beverage image including cleanliness, proper uniform, and appearance standards.

c. Train, evaluate, coach and counsel all Event and Catering personnel.

d. Develop Marketing strategy to reach external and internal member customer base.

e. Develop Marketing strategy to reach outside the gate for prospective clients.

f. Receive and respond swiftly to all catering sales leads.

g. Conducts site visits for prospective catering and event opportunities.

h. Create Group Resumes, Banquet Event Orders and communicate details to management

i. Coordinate with Front of House Manager for beverage orders to meet the sufficient needs of the restaurant and Catering.

j. Maintain past and potential client and member files.

k. Acclimates effortlessly to fast paced, ever changing situations, member expectations and short-term announcements.

l. Surpasses tight deadlines for events as well as makes informed decisions that exceed member and client expectations while considering the best interest of the Lake Wildwood Association.

m. Management of all financial requirements for an event including deposits and final payments.

n. Diagrams room layout and banquet item placement.

o. Arranges for printing of menus, decorations, entertainment, and other special requests.

p. Provide onsite support for set-up/teardown, event flow and any other additional support needed.

q. Coordinates with management team and Chef to determine selling prices, menus, and other specifics.

r. Assists with the development of contracts and assures the planned menus are current and reflect client and member interests.

s. Critiques functions and events to recognize future opportunities and to implement necessary changes for increased quality and image.

t. Prepare weekly schedules for Special Event personnel in coordination with Restaurant and Bar Manager.

u. Wide-range knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

a. Associates Degree in Food and Beverage or related field, preferred

b. Minimum of 3 years in Event Management with preferred Wedding Planning experience.

c. Knowledge of logistics involved in planning and execution of weddings and events

d. Ability to multi-task and balance/prioritize work

e. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Publisher, Word, and Excel as well as POS systems

f. Knowledgeable in health and sanitation guidelines as well as HAACP compliance

g. Excellent Communication skills

h. Ability to work with a diverse group of people and communicate with all levels of management

i. Passionate about engaging and creating personal connections with our community members and vendors

j. Prior experience in Event Marketing

Certificates/Licenses:

a. Valid Driver’s License

b. Servsafe Certification

c. RBS Certification
