JOB SUMMARY

The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and achieving sales goals within a defined territory. This individual is tasked to drive sales through effective sales and marketing strategies, coordination with chain and key accounts and customer relationship management. They will manage a team of sales professionals to coordinate and monitor their sales efforts aligning individual and company goals. They will lead and motivate by setting a good example and engaging their team.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Conduct weekly team meetings with the sales team to address key information; prepare content to discuss monthly and yearly progress, goals and developments
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to ensure high performance and achieve individual and team sales targets
  • Provide ongoing training, support, and feedback to enhance the team’s sales skills and product knowledge
  • Initiate, document and oversee disciplinary action over all sales associates as needed

SALES PERFORMANCE

  • Develop and contribute to effective sales approaches for various brands, suppliers and in-house sales divisions
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • In collaboration with the Sales and Business Strategy Team, prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management
  • In collaboration with the Supply Chain department, forecast and monitor individual items for in-house programs and goals as needed

MARKET KNOWLEDGE

  • Conduct in-market activity days each month, including but not limited to Sales Professionals, Account Surveys and Secondary Call requirements on top volume accounts
  • Maintains knowledge of key market measures, including but not limited to market share, sales vs. budget, sales trends, and scorecard performance
  • Knowledgeable of competition in market and proactively address “at-risk” situations for Wine Trends brands
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential markets within the area

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Minimum five years’ relevant wines sales experience with a record of meeting and exceeding goals
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License at all times, with insurance coverage acceptable to the Company’s provider, in its sole discretion. Must abide by all traffic and motor vehicle laws and regulations
  • Must be highly proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, VIP, I-Dig, and related reporting software utilized by the Company
  • Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written; ability to speak at both Executive and Corporate meetings; must be able to read and speak English

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Team Leader is a key part of the local management team and is considered part of the local leadership team. The Team Leader plays a key role in working with the Sales Leadership, to foster open communication and project/goal alignment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours through the week, including some weekends and holidays
  • This position operates in a professional office environment, but requires regular travel and on-site work in a customer retail environment
  • Regular, consistent attendance is required
  • Dress code is business professional to business casual; closed-toe shoes are suggested. Other restrictions may apply
  • While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to stand; balance; walk; climb stairs, sit; use hands to feel and handle objects, tools, or controls, including standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; and have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus
