Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor assists the Program Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the Withdrawal Management and Intensive units. This role includes supervising nursing and technician staff, managing daily operations including the admissions & discharge process, census reporting, DMHAS reporting, unit schedules, and all aspects of client care. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring appropriate nursing and technician coverage across all shifts and provides on-call support and unit coverage as needed, including outside of regular business hours.
Essential Duties &/ Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative supervision to all nurses & technicians in alignment with the supervision hours required by ASAM.
- Assists program manager in completing annual evaluations for all nurses & technicians.
- Provides on-call support to the unit as scheduled.
- Responsible for completing payroll timely and correctly.
- Provides training and orientation to the assigned team of nurses & technicians, including onboarding and training coordination to new staff.
- Assists in hiring and recruiting process, including facilitating interviews.
- Manages the nursing & technician schedule and always ensures appropriate coverage.
- Oversees census reporting for InterCommunity and DMHAS.
- Develops and leads in-service trainings with the entire team and leads program improvement initiatives.
- Assists with nurse & technician duties on the unit and in triage.
- Provides nursing support to nurses, including medication administration, admissions, assessments, and care coordination.
- Assists with nursing coverage during staffing shortages.
- Responsible for regular chart auditing to ensure documentation requirements are met.
- Coordinates treatment with other providers to support Whole Person Healthcare.
- Takes a lead in managing crisis situations on the unit.
- Responsible for maintaining safety and cleanliness of the unit by timely submission of work orders.
- Documents in the clinical record according to requirements of the regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for oversight of closing out Epic charts.
- May be required to transport clients in Agency vehicle
- Other related duties as assigned.
*All agency staff must be awake during all scheduled hours*
*All agency staff are required to attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings*
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Additional hours for coverage when needed, Rotating weekends to accept incoming calls.
Requirements:Education &/Or Experience:
Registered Nurse (RN), at least 3 years of experience in a medical or residential setting.
Leadership experience preferred.
