RN Internal Traveler - Emergency Department
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303
Full-time - Nights - 7pm - 7am
Pay range is between $70 - $80/hr. Rates are market dependent and will be determined at the time of written offer.
+$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.
•Contracts are 13 weeks.
•External applications accepted.
•New hires cannot be ex-BCH employees within 6 months.
•Weekends Required.
Boulder Community Health is seeking an RN for ED who provides patient care, identifying and implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.

Qualifications
•Highest Education Level Diploma required to do Moderately Complex Testing at Emergency Department CMC Location
•Colorado RN license in good standing
Certifications required: If certification is not through the American Heart Association upon hire — conversion to AHA is required within a conditional period of employment — suspension if certification lapses:
•BLS certification through American Heart Association
•ACLS certification through American Heart Association
•PALS or ENPC certification through American Heart Association
•TNCC certification within 6 months of hire, or upon the expiration of the current certification.
•NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire.
•NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program preffered
•CEN – Certification for Emergency Nursing preffered
•Minimum 2 yrs experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma ED. Trauma experience preferred.
Responsibilities
•Triage and initiate accurate and ongoing assessments of physical and psychosocial problems of patients of all ages from 0 through the lifespan, as evidenced in documentation and adherence to department standards.
•Identifies environmental and psychosocial factors affecting discharge needs and refers appropriately
•Knowledgeable of EMTALA issues that impact ED care and management.
•Recognitive of communicable disease and potential for bioterrorism threats
•Based on assessment, sound knowledge and critical thinking, ED nurses shall initiate nursing interventions and diagnostic tests according to standard, and function independently to assure high quality, timely and comprehensive care is offered.
•Demonstrates the ability to assume a leadership role in emergency or crisis situations.
•Able to identify replacement and alternative options, resources and communicate repair needs in the event of equipment malfunctions.
•Evaluate patient response to treatment plans, collaborate with physicians, and modify care according to patient responses
•Assure open and timely communication with patients, family, and team members to assure understanding of care, delivery delays, and comprehensive care.
•May be required to perform point of care testing. May be a point of care trainer
•Assist the patient and significant other to have the information they need on discharge to care for themselves or their loved one
•Understands and runs laboratory instrumentation.
•Performs Laboratory tests and Procedures as directed.
•It is the expectation that all care providers document accurately and in real time, utilizing the electronic medical record within their department.
