Job Summary
Neoniq is seeking a versatile and hands-on Shop Manager to oversee day-to-day operations within our composites testing, small batch and prototyping environment. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and operational management to ensure smooth workflow, high-quality output, and compliance with industry standards. The Shop Manager will act as a central point for coordination across prototyping, validation, small batch production, and maintenance activities, while fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage daily shop activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization for testing, model & pattern making, and production areas.
· Supervise and mentor testing technicians and other shop personnel, ensuring adherence to protocols and professional development.
· Oversee execution of validation and qualification tests for composite materials and assemblies. Ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
· Maintain and troubleshoot shop equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure readiness of testing instruments.
· Enforce safety standards and compliance with external and internal quality requirements.
· Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Prepare operational reports, test summaries, and maintain accurate records for audits and certifications.
· Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
· Oversee building and facility maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing or testing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Strong understanding of composite materials and testing processes.
· Hands-on experience with shop equipment and lab instrumentation.
· Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in data analysis tools is a plus.
