Position Summary:SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for a Professional Tutor for Chemistry/ Physics.
The tutor is charged with assisting and providing guidance to a diverse student body in chemistry and/or physics in person as well as remote video conference.

- Facilitate a group or one-on-one session with students.
- Be familiar with the topics, teaching methods and requirements of faculty in the particular area of learning.
- Work directly with faculty and inform them of the progress of their students.
- Be familiar with Google Meet or Zoom video conferencing.
- Assist with the preparation of administrative reports.
- Attend professional development workshops.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Physics. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Teaching experience in chemistry and physics.
- Commitment to community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests.
