About This Position

Location: Norwalk, CA (On-site)
Reports to: Human Resources Director
Salary Range: $21 - $24 hourly
Travel: Occasional travel required as assigned.


Based in our Norwalk office, the Human Resources Administrator supports the HR Director and HR team to manage and execute core HR functions for designated locations/employee groups. This role holds responsibilities covering administrative tasks in employee relations, benefits, and more.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Staffing: Record and transcribe interview notes. Ensure the ATS is current and cleaned up on the back end. Prepare HR documents, new hire packets, for candidates. Prepares New Hire Boxes with necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Communicates with IT to set up new hire email and phone access and with the Training Department to schedule classes for new drivers.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a secondary contact for employees when generalists and safety specialists are not available. Have basic knowledge of samsara, benefits, processes, and procedures to be able to communicate with employees.
  • Document Administration & Record Keeping: Assist with keeping files current and requesting new documents as needed. Serve as a second pair of eyes to the HR Generalists and Safety Specialists. Conduct audits as needed to ensure all information on file is current and accurate. This position will also ensure that Southern CA offices are audit ready.
  • Calendar Management: Take ownership of updating and maintaining the calendars used by the team. This includes keeping track of trainees and trainers and preparing spiffs for trainers to ensure timely reporting for payroll.
  • Collect Accident & Incident reporting documentation: Make sure documentation is complete before getting it to the reporting team.
  • Training Administration: Help update training documentation and maintain training records for the Southern CA offices. This position ensures accuracy in training records.
  • Compliance Administration: Ensure drivers are aware of compliance deadlines related to their licenses and certifications. Ensure timely response to rack requests and safety requirements.
  • Special Projects: Participate in or lead HR-related projects as assigned by the HR Director, Lead HR Generalist and Safety Team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Some continuing education is required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in administrative experience required. Safety, training or human resources experience is preferred.
Skills:
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Task oriented, critical thinker, able to work with many levels of staff
  • Other: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
