About This Position

Description: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Associate to join our team at Katsiroubas Produce, a leading provider of fresh produce & specialty items in the Boston area. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining an efficient and organized warehouse by performing tasks such as order picking, receiving deliveries, aisle rotation, inventory management, and ensuring the quality and freshness of products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Picking: Accurately pick and prepare orders based on customer or inventory requirements using handheld scanners or other technology.
  • Receiving & Stocking: Assist in the unloading of shipments, verifying product quantities, and checking for quality and freshness. Ensure all items are accurately logged into the inventory system and stored properly.
  • Aisle Rotation: Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expired, First Out) practices to ensure the oldest stock is used first. Regularly check for any expired or damaged products and ensure proper disposal or return.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory checks and stock audits, reporting discrepancies to supervisors. Help maintain accurate records of products and stock levels.
  • General Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure the warehouse environment is clean, safe, and organized. Assist with maintaining proper product placement to optimize space and efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and company policies, including the proper use of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of the produce to ensure it meets company standards and customer expectations. Notify supervisors of any quality concerns immediately.

Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Comfortable working in cold or refrigerated environments.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment, especially in produce handling, is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, standing, and walking for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic inventory and stock management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (training may be provided).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, bilingual in Spanish & English preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
