Wind River Environmental is seeking a dependable, process-focused Plant Operator II to join our wastewater treatment operations team in Taunton, MA.
This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in operating complex systems safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations. Every day, our operators play a direct role in protecting public health and the environment by ensuring wastewater is treated properly and discharged in accordance with regulatory requirements.
We are looking for a professional who is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, and process control.
This is a SECOND SHIFT position.
What You'll Do
- As a Plant Operator II, you will be trusted to operate and monitor critical treatment processes with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include:
- Operating wastewater, sludge, and FOG treatment systems
- Monitoring plant performance and adjusting processes as needed
- Performing routine laboratory testing including TSS, COD, pH, and related analyses
- Maintaining accurate operational logs and compliance documentation
- Monitoring pumps, valves, blowers, instrumentation, and other treatment equipment
- Identifying potential equipment or process issues before they become operational problems
- Performing minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and process adjustments
- Ordering chemicals and completing monthly operational reporting
- Ensuring plant operations remain compliant with all federal, state, and local requirements

Requirements:Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of wastewater treatment plant experience
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification is preferred but not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pumps, valves, blowers, hydraulics, and process equipment • Ability to perform laboratory testing and maintain operational records • Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination • Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel)

Wind River Environmental services and maintains a broad array of non-hazardous liquid waste systems, including grease traps, septic tanks and related waste systems. Headquartered in Marlborough, MA we offer a full suite of services to business, residential and municipal customers throughout the East Coast.
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $25.50 - $27.00 hourly at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
