About This Position
Position Title: Teacher
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Principal
Position Overview:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and faith-filled Kindergarten Teacher to join our Catholic school community. The ideal candidate will create a joyful, nurturing, and structured classroom environment where young learners can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. This teacher will play a foundational role in helping students develop a love for learning while introducing them to the values and traditions of the Catholic faith. Candidates are not required to be Catholic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in early literacy, math, science, and social studies
- Foster early reading and writing skills through engaging, hands-on learning experiences
- Create a warm, safe, and structured classroom environment that supports young learners
- Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and Gospel values into daily classroom life
- Support students in developing social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and kindness
- Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of developmental needs
- Use ongoing assessment to monitor student progress and guide instruction
- Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration
- Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and community events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (state licensure required)
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
- Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the Catholic identity of the school
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience teaching Kindergarten or early childhood education
- Knowledge of early literacy development and foundational math skills
- Ability to create engaging, play-based and hands-on learning opportunities
- Experience differentiating instruction for young learners
